In 1948, Mr.Helmy came across an advertisement for Venetian blinds in an American architectural publication and right away decided to introduce it to the Egyptian market. In July 1948, he commenced production with the first Venetian blind. Since then, Hassan Helmy & Co. became the sole agent for Hunter Douglas in Egypt, holding the oldest world-wide license for such.
With extensive cooperation with architect and consultant firms, Hassan Helmy & Co. established a solid pioneering foundation for itself in both the Egyptian and middle-eastern markets. Since the launching of the business, being primarily venetian blinds, quality was and has always been a top priority. Mr. Helmy continued to expand the business with the addition of only solid and reliable brands in the field of architectural products. These products are ranging from Window Profiles, Window Covering Products, Shutters, Ceilings, Sun Control System and Facades. Today, that small business has transformed to become a market leader in many of the product lines that it carries, and more importantly has become a place where architects and designers seek experience, quality and consultation.
